Introduction

The party encounters Quinn, collector of odities, on the street just outside his antiquities shop. He spots them and says "Come in! Come in! There's something you must do for me!" He quickly ushers them towards and inside his shop. As the characters approach they will observe that the shop is scuttled away down a lane, around a corner, and just off an alleyway; you would have to be looking for this place (and given good directions) to find it (-8 to Area Knowledge roll). The PCs will also notice the curious architecture that has gone into the building. It seems to be a mish-mash of Sumerian, Syrian, Babylonian, and Egyptian styles all of which seem to contradict and oddly complement each other.

Quinn explains that he has a very important customer coming over this afternoon, a fellow by the name of Nicholas Horthbridge--a fellow of no small repute in the world of oddity collection--who intends to buy a rare copy of an Egyptian board game called Senet. What he needs the adventurers to do is look after the shop for the afternoon and sell the Senet game to Horthbridge when he shows up. Why does he need the adventurers to do this? Because he also has a very important meeting that he must attend with his fellow members of the Cult of Set--one of those "only happens every ten years" sort of things; he just can't miss it.

For their troubles, he agrees to pay the adventurers double of whatever price they can haggle out of Horthbridge. He also asks them to please stay within the main shop and don't go wandering off into the cellar, his personal quarters, the taxedermy room, or the art gallery. There's plenty of interesting things to look at in the shop--only don't break anything please. There's a billiard room if they feel like playing a game, and the kitchen is open if they feel like a snack.

Quinn also has an assistant named "Egon" who is wall-eyed and mentally handicapped who just helps clean up the place. He will not be too helpful to the PCs, but exists solely for the purpose of helping goad them in the right direction.
